Communications Manager



Our client is looking to employ an experienced Communications Manager who has at least 3 years experience in UK media management with gaming relevance.



General Overview of the position:

To lead the central PR direction, UK execution and liaison with the PR Managers for designated products.



Main duties and responsibilities:

Develop PR direction, strategies and plans for designated products from our clients portfolio, contributing to global marketing plans.

Work with Brand Managers to develop media messages, materials and development of the core media

Reactive management of information + assets to media

Manage and maintain a database of UK media contacts

Campaign planning and day-to-day management of UK press and/or agency dealing in key media sectors to drive coverage: Specialist media, Trade media, Specialist online and broadcast (radio / TV).

Visiting games media to present product and proactive planning for front covers, features etc.

Media tours - planning and management of UK and international media events and arranging press tours to territories as appropriate per product.



Person Specification

Education/Qualifications:

• Degree 2.1 in PR, communications, media, journalism, marketing or related field

• Or equivalent experience within a commercial PR or Marketing operation.



Experience:

• 3+ years experience in PR or media management in video gaming related operations.

• Proven experience in factual communications field (journalism, PR position) to gaming media/audience and mass market audience.



Skills/Knowledge:

• Excellent written and verbal communication including good telephone manner

• High level of interest in games with console and PC experience; interest and knowledge of games media

• Creative thinker

• Strong management and organisation skills - able to manage time/workload and work under pressure to tight deadlines at all levels
